Doing these color gel portraits were pretty cool they were a little hard to work with but other than that it was pretty neat. To be honest i think the only colors that really work really well would be the blue, pink, red, green and purple. The yellow, light pink and light blue didn't really do much of a color to it which kind of sucked but maybe it was too bright or we needed to use two of them to have it really make an effect.

The cyanotype process, also known as the blueprint process, was first introduced by John Herschel in 1842. The cyanotype is made up of two simple solutions which are Solution A: 25 grams Ferric ammonium citrate (green) and 100 ml. water. Solution B: 10 grams Potassium ferricyanide and 100 ml. the cyanotype was mainly used for blueprints and people used them to produce low quality images or drawings. The steps I used to create the negative was i went into photoshop and I first changed it to black and white and i adjusted the brightness and contrast. From there I inverted and then printed it out. To create the actual cyanotype i spread the solution onto the paper and i made sure it was dry enough. After that I put my negative face up and i out the glass on top. I let it sit outside for quite a while. After that i put it in the water to wash out the yellow and after that I put it in the peroxide for a minute or so and then I let it dry.
Knolling Photography is when you have things that are alike or related to each other or even the same color and you arrange them in a unique way and take a picture from bird's eyes view. I did like this type of photography but i did find it kind of hard because not all the things that I had were the same color or I had to arrange them in a weird way and like it was kind eh. I kinda wish that we had more things that were the same color or if we had better backgrounds then for me at least it would've been easier .
What I learned in this workshop is that you should never try to always get the same pose and that you need to try to keep the dancers in that pose for not a long period of time because they cant always hold those poses for long periods of time and if they do when they just keep doing it then it won't look as good. I also learned that it is better to shoot from below rather than to stand up because then their legs look longer rather than shorter and it just adds a lot more. Another thing I learned is that to never show the dancers all of the pictures because they critique themselves a lot. which is true.
Holly IrelandWebsite: http://www.hollyireland.com/ How long have they been in business?: After working on Broadway and being in front of the camera for 15 years she developed the same love for photographing. What type of photographer are they?: Mostly wedding and family photographer but also photographs dance, engagements and also senior pictures. Top five pictures: Holly Ireland I really like this picture because it's just so dramatic and there is so much emphasis in it. I really like the way the powder is around her. It just looks so cool. I also like how it looks like she's jumping off the ground but she's still touching the floor and i just really like who it looks. Holly Ireland I really like how elegant it looks and it looks how theres a string pulling her. The way her legs are, they look like they're firm but at the same time they look so elegant. And the move she is doing looks flawless and it seems as if she put no effort what so ever like it came to her naturally. Holly Ireland I love this picture because it is so intimate and you can feel the tension but it's good tension. I love how they have really strong eye contact it just makes the picture even more intense. This picture reminds me of salsa dancing because this move is used a lot in that type of dance and it is probably one of my favorite moves. The way I was able to create this video was by setting the camera to a certain time that it would take photos and i really didn't have to do much but wait for it to be done taking all of the pictures. After that I put them into imovie and it kinda did it on it's own. For the audio I really wanted like an angelic sound for some reason and i couldn't really find any on the sound effects so I went onto youtube and i searched up the beginning of this one song and then i screen recorded it and i put it onto the video and it came out pretty good if i do say so myself. What I liked about it is that it actually came out pretty good and i really didn't have to do much but just sit there and wait for it to finish. Although i kinda wish that the video was longer so instead of having an hour of work turn into 11 seconds i would like for it to be longer but i have learned that patience is key so one can get the desired result or even better.

Dance Photography What a dance photographer does is that they photograph dancers whether they are dancing or not. They can take photographs of them dancing, of their shows, their costumes or just their headshots. For shows they are usually there at the event really early because they take shots of the dancers before the show and sometimes they'll take shots of them getting ready. I would really enjoy giving this a shot because I myself am a dancer and I get my photo taken a lot because of it and I would love to experience being on the other side of the camera.
I really love dancing and I have seen so many pictures of me dancing and of my group dancing and it just amazes me because they come out soooo good and I would love to capture something like that and have it look beautiful. |
